It would be nice to be able to setup connections inside of the connections view. This way I can work on getting all of my connections setup before I go in and define my workflows.
I was just about to make this request, and then your post popped up. This is also definitely something I would like to see.

Hi @joeworkman,
I have seen multiple requests for that, but I never understood why. Is, for example, you working with clients, and you want to collect their credentials? Or are you asking another person, so you do that beforehand?
Please, if you can, or anyone reading this feature request, provide as many details as possible. I am obsessed with understanding the minor details to make sure we are making the right product.
Thank you,
Mo.
Hi @abuaboud, something like this might be the perfect example: - Post to multiple accounts using a single flow?
EDIT:
To further elaborate, though, for example’s sake, let’s say I wish to set up an automated flow to post to my work team accounts. They likely wouldn’t want me to have access to their personal email and passwords to link to their accounts. By being able to add them through connections, I could set up a user account for the workplace, for example, with view permissions, allowing each team member access to that account and asking them to create a new connection linking to their social media accounts. Then, I am free to use a flow similar to the above posted without directly having to ask them for their login credentials for personal accounts.
Hopefully, this example gives better clarification of how it could be beneficial.
FURTHER EDIT:
P.S. - I have tested adding another email as a viewer, and it is currently possible for them, even with viewer privileges, to add a new connection inside a flow; even though they are restricted from saving any edits in a flow, it does indeed save the connection. I should also note that as a viewer, I was also then able to view the connections in the connections tab and delete that connection, so I am not sure if the permissions to delete connections should be available to a viewer. Still, I can’t see any harm in allowing them to create one.

Hi @GunnerJnr
We are revisiting all authorization next week, We did huge rewrite one week ago that will allow us to continue features in this area without bugs.
But you got great point, I was asking because we though of introducing something like Magic Links, where you give someone link without having access to your account at all and then they can connect their account through this generated link.
Hi @abuaboud, I love the sound of that. It sounds like a perfect solution and keeps their details fully private. I would be more inclined for you to take that approach.
EDIT:
One question springs to mind: if you visit the flow linked above, you will see it relies on looping through the connection names. Would a user be forced to enter the name of the connection when clicking the magic links? Or, once the connection gets added, would we still be able to see it (in a sense) in the connections tab and be able to rename it, or would it be handled internally by ActivePieces after the user links it up for example, maybe, firstname-lastname-platform
- (e.g., david-gunner-facebook
, david-gunner-linkedin
, etc.)?
