πŸš€ MCP Update: Easier, Faster, and More Secure

Hey everyone ,

We’re excited to share an improved version of MCP! Connecting your MCP is now much easier, faster, and more secure :rocket:

:wrench: What’s new:

  • :credit_card: No more AI Credits needed β€” MCP now connects only to flows, so the mini-agent for resolving inputs is no longer required.
  • :zap: Faster performance β€” We now support the new Streamable HTTP protocol and no longer use SSE.
  • :file_folder: Project-wide MCP β€” You only need one MCP per project now. This removes a lot of setup friction.
  • :closed_lock_with_key: Stronger security β€” MCP now uses a token in the headers instead of in the URL.

:warning: Important: Your old MCP will stop working. Please reconfigure it using the new settings under Project Settings β†’ MCP Server.

Not gonna lie, was not thrilled to find the setup I finished on Friday to suddenly not be working today

Hi @activepiecesuser

Which tools did you use, flows or pieces?
Flows should be available automatically in the new version; you just need to click Enable.

I am assuming this doesn’t apply to self hosted installations? Cannot find this new menu to configure mcp

@igalg2024 It does on the latest version (0.73.0)

In the pricing page it says unlimited MCP servers, but I can’t create any other projects on my free account. Also, what if all I want is to link a piece to my MCP, no flows. How does that work?

I have the same issue. I’m running activepieces on pika pods, and I do not see an option to enable MCP server for my project.

The devs have acknowledged this and have a fix soon: Cannot Create MCP Server - #3 by adam_wulf

I just don’t succeed to connect to Claude Desktop. Can someone share a good tutorial ? The only official one is with old MCP version.

Has anyone been successful with this one? An easy tutorial would be nice for sure.

it just does not work with Claude Desktop
