I connect Claude to Activepieces through the MCP server. Every MCP tool call deducts 1 AI credit, even simple read-only calls like ap_list_flows. I tested it: the AI credit counter dropped by exactly 1 per call.
These calls don’t run any AI model on your side. The reasoning happens in the MCP client (Claude, on my own subscription). Your dashboard confirms this: AI Usage: 0, while the AI credit counter still went up.
Your pricing page says AI steps cost extra because you pay the model provider on our behalf. That doesn’t apply to MCP calls, since no model cost is involved.
Compare this with Make and N8N: their MCP server is included at no extra cost, and MCP calls themselves don’t use credits. You only pay for scenarios that actually run. Listing or managing scenarios through MCP is free.
As a result, Activepieces is now much more expensive than Make an N8N for AI-driven work, even though MCP is exactly where AI and automation meet.
Request: please consider exclude MCP tool calls from AI credit usage and only charge for flows that actually run.
