Mailchimp: Able to establish connection, but unable to Add Member to Audience

Need help

I can connect to mailchimp to add a new member to a mailchimp list via the action.

I cannot however, add a subscriber to the mailing list that is in the dropdown from data that is flowing over. Instead I receive the following error:

  1. {success: false, output: “Bad Request”, standardError: “”, standardOutput: “”}

I’ve tried using the provided oauth connection, my own clientId and secret, and neither method appears to work.

I’ve also tried hardcoding strings into the email, first, and lastname fields:

this was the provided 503 response. Any idea what might be going on? Any help would be appreciated.

This is interestingly bad, because if you render the HTML you posted it will say:

We blocked your request because the IP address you’re using looks suspicious. This issue will usually resolve itself after a short period of time, and you can try your request again. You can also try using a different IP address to see if that resolves the issue.

So:

  1. Try again? Does it work now?
  2. Are you on the cloud or self hosting Activepieces on your server?

I’m using the cloud version. I guess it’s possible that mailchimp is blocking me due to numerous attempts at establishing a connection but mailchimp themselves haven’t given me any warning of some sort and it seems like the connections are valid on their end:

It seems that the HTML error message only happens when I pass in test@test.com as the email address. If I pass in any other email, I get the original Bad Request response so still not working at the moment.

@abuaboud Can we have a better way to propagate errors from the services into Activepieces? It’s hard to read these errors since they’re too generic

I did a bit more debugging using codespaces github. So I can occasionally get it to work now if I hard code emails. Definitely still doesn’t like emails like x@test.com, but i was able to get testinguser@gmail.com to go through. However, let’s say i’m passing data from a form fill out via webflow, then it just doesn’t like it no matter what email i pass. It’s possible my mailchimp account isn’t working well because I have it connected via sandbox, via my cloud account, and a clientid but seems unlikely.

I think @abuaboud is better positioned to answer this question, but I’m afraid the TLS error is only happening because of the settings of the machine you’re on.
