Issues with Reactivating Automations in Activepieces

I’m facing the following issue with an automation. Here’s the context:

We’re extracting data (email, name, and phone number) submitted by leads through a Mailchimp form, and then using that information to send a WhatsApp message via the ManyChat platform.

My client suggested pausing the automation for a while. However, when we reactivated it, the automation (or the Activepieces configurations) stopped working correctly and didn’t process new data—it seemed completely inactive.

To resolve the issue, I had to create a new automation from scratch to get it working again. My concern now is that if we pause the current automation again, the same problem might occur, forcing us to recreate everything from scratch.

I’d like to know the best practices for managing this type of situation, particularly in terms of pausing and reactivating automations, to avoid losing functionality and already configured data. I really appreciate your comments and help.

Hi @JP.C ,
You can start by understanding how your platform handles paused workflows, especially for API tokens and webhook connections, to avoid losing functionality when pausing and reactivating automations. Before pausing, back up your automation settings or export configurations if possible. You can also test the pause-reactivate process in a controlled setup to identify potential breakpoints.

As an alternative, consider disabling triggers or adding conditional logic instead of pausing entirely.

If Activepieces continues to face issues with reactivation, you can explore other integration platform like eZintegrations, which offer robust features for managing automations and preserving workflow integrity.

Hope this helps.
