1. Problem Statement

  • High Boilerplate Overhead: Creating new pieces currently requires manually writing TypeScript definitions for auth, actions, property types, and HTTP handlers.

  • Ecosystem Bottleneck: Most SaaS platforms already maintain standard OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications. Redefining these schemas manually slows down community piece contributions and internal enterprise adoption.

2. Proposed Solution

Introduce a piece generation engine (CLI or Web UI) that parses an OpenAPI spec (JSON/YAML) or public API documentation schema and automatically converts it into a production-ready Activepieces piece scaffold.
