Hi, I’m going to tell you my case to see if someone could help me.
I currently have a form on my website where they give me measurements and a series of data so that I can give them an approximate quote. What I’ve done is connect this form to CHATGPT and tell it to calculate the approximate price according to a prompt, so far everything is correct. Now what I would like is to create a PDF from a template (which I don’t know how to create either the template) and either the AI or some tool that integrates with activepieces generates it for me.
Do you know if I could achieve this with just CHATGPT or if in some way the format of a PDF could be added to activepieces and that it would be filled with dynamic fields resulting from what chatgpt previously spit out? Please, I would appreciate creative answers!
Once I have the PDF file, I would send it by WhatsApp (I already have this done)
Thank you very much
I think it’s better to use a solution specialized for generating PDFs based on a predefined template like Bannerbear; They support generating PDFs from a predefined template and we already have a Bannerbear piece, you just need to use the Custom API Call action in the Bannerbear piece and you’re good to go!
Let me know if you need help setting it up
@cesar.boost Bannerbear, as anasbarg said, is a good fit if you want a visual template editor. If you’d rather build the template in something you already know, Google Docs works well with Activepieces:
- Create the quote as a normal Google Doc: logo, table, terms, and placeholders like {{client_name}}, {{measurements}}, {{price}}.
- In your prompt, ask ChatGPT to answer only with JSON using those exact keys, for example
{"client_name": "...", "price": "..."}. Fixed keys make the mapping reliable.
- Google Docs piece, Copy Document, so the original template stays clean.
- Google Docs piece, Edit Template File on the copy: placeholder format {{KEY}}, and map each variable from the ChatGPT step.
- Google Docs piece, Export as PDF, then pass that file to your WhatsApp step.
To change the design later, you only edit the Doc, not the flow.
