AppSumo Plans Updates

This announcement is for users who bought Lifetime Deals from AppSumo in 2023 and 2024.

Important Note: We never downgraded any accounts, and if that ever happened to your account, you can contact our support.

Hi Sumo-lings,

We want to directly address the recent changes to our plans and clear up any confusion.

First, we’d like to clarify that the continuous changes in our pricing plans are part of our very fast experimentation on business models. This includes shipping so many new products, features and feature updates, and shaping our pricing plans around these offerings.

Any pricing changes we make are in no way a discount of our users support or dedication to utilize Activepieces and we’d love to always support our community back.

If you go to Zapier’s pricing plans, the same products are split into separate offerings. We haven’t separated them so far but we might do this later, the Agents, MCPs, Todos and Tables are new whole products we never promised any users to ship, we experimented with them and will keep experimenting with them and more offerings.

The following is a joint announcement between AppSumo and us after many conversations that were aiming at making sure our community is rewarded for the love they’ve been showing to Activepieces.

When you purchased your lifetime deal on AppSumo, it was tied to our Cloud Pro Plan. Over time, as our product has evolved, we made the decision to sunset the Cloud Pro Plan. By default, your plan would have transitioned to our free plan since it is the closest match in structure and features.

We understand this wouldn’t have been ideal and that plan changes can be frustrating. That’s why we created a dedicated LTD (lifetime deal) plan exclusively for our AppSumo community.

This new LTD plan goes beyond both the original Cloud Pro and the current free plan. It already includes additional modules and features such as more AI agents, tables, and MCP servers, plus unlimited to-dos—all of which were not part of your original purchase.

  • Tiers 1 to 3: 5 AI Agents / 5 Tables / 5 MCP Servers
  • Tier 4: 10 AI Agents / 10 Tables / 10 MCP Servers
  • Tier 5: 20 AI Agents / 20 Tables / 20 MCP Servers
  • Tier 6: 50 AI Agents / 50 Tables / 50 MCP Servers

As we grow, we’ll keep refining and experimenting with our subscription offerings. However, you can count on the LTD plan to bring you lasting value as it evolves. We’re committed to building the best possible product while showing our appreciation for your ongoing support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly at support@activepieces.com. We’re here to help and committed to making sure you get the best experience possible.

The following is a visual reference to what the AppSumo plans originally had, what the legacy Pro plan included, and how the plans map altogether, the yellow highlights are new products added to the AppSumo plans.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

Heads up, the Tier 3 was 200k tasks/month, instead of the 100k you have listed. When should we expect to see these changes reflected in AP?

And for folks who are looking for it, here’s the original thread about the App Sumo LTD plan changes (as I can’t seem to find it anymore).

hi @Ashrafsam

For transparency and clarity for all customers. Where is the previous post that we all commented on and why was it removed before this update?

@Mal Another trust issue— they hid the original thread.

I’m not sure what to think about this.

I don’t think I’ll be able to trust AppSumo’s terms again, especially since a new plan has been created. (If the plan name changes, the deal will be mapped to the new plan name with all accompanying updates.)

I will always have some doubts about Activepieces. I’ll use it and try to make the MOST of it, but unfortunately, I can’t recommend it to others.

Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up! I updated the table in the original post with the correct info. And thanks for sharing the original thread too!

We unlisted it to highlight the announcement as we posted it first in the other topic and tried to highlight it there but weren’t able to find a way to make it so prominent there. The link is in @Jqw’s comment right after the main post here. The other thread is not deleted or archived, it’s unlisted from the browsing experience outside.

We’re working so hard to make all our users happy: Open source users, LTD users, cloud subscribers and enterprise customers.

I respect your feelings, thanks for the support and I hope you won’t perceive all our efforts as nothing.

Best.
Ash

@kevin This is nuts. Who just “deletes” the conversation of dozens of customers.
To be clear, this is mess.

Appsumo seems to now be selling the dream of LTD SaaS but in fact is selling
a kind of perpetual software license. Software purchased with a one-time, upfront payment for lifetime access to a specific version of the software features. Meaning that they do not offer any new features.

The way this is being handled is BS by both parties.
For sure THIS IS NOT WHAT WE BOUGHT or WHAT WE WERE SOLD.

@ashrafsam Relist it please

This is so stupid. I’m ignoring the thread for now.

How can I use more than 5 agents or 5 MCPS. I’m tier 3.
If I pay $25 per month, do I get unlimited agents and Unlimited MCP servers added to my account. How do we actually move forward.

How can I pay and add the agents adn MCPS to my account? Share with me how does it work.

I would like to add 10-20 MCP and 40-50 agents this week. Assuming there isn’t some other crazy. I have 65+ Flows.

Hi, trying to figure out some of the logic behind this.

  • Can you explain why T1-T3 are on the same limits for Tables/MCP Servers?
  • As you have put in your table, T3 has 5 users - so you’re saying each user can have 1 table and 1 MCP server - is that right?
  • So as a T3 user (which felt like the right place to buy in as I wanted a team plan) I basically have 1 table/1mcp server for each of my users - not sure how that makes sense… - can you provide some explanation for this limit?

For a tool that was over $200 this seems like exceptionally weak value - just my $.02

I knew this was a door-in-the-face technique. Appsumo probably think they did their job as there was a slight improvement… Meanwhile…

Also - how can you blanket tier 1 2 and 3 together? Tier 3 in particular had noticeable benefit over tier 1 and 2 (and more costly) with the 1 minute sync time and signicantly more tasks - and likely the tier most bought because of this?

On top of that, what really feels like a slap in the face is the fact that the one key feature which originally set these plans apart (the amount of tasks) has now been made unlimited for everyone.

So we’ve basically paid for something that’s now freely available to anyone on the free plan and as we know, the 1 minute sync time was removed dues to issues (which couldn’t really be helped). We could’ve just signed up for the free version and received the exact same benefits we have now.

Well, I feel silly!

Honestly, “Ice Cube - No Vaseline” seems like the perfect soundtrack for this situation.

EDIT
forgot the ref link: New pricing and LTD users - #3 by vinc

On the flip side, if you install the open source self-hosted version, you get unlimited everything (agents, MCP, tables, etc. (enterprise not included) as far as I can see), so perhaps that is the way to go…

Extra Edit:
In response to the reply below: “Yes, I see the free is limited to 1000 tasks, oops, my mistake.”

@GunnerJnr Your tiers include unlimited flows, the new pricing has limited active flows.

We revised the deal terms thoroughly and we made sure we kept our promise to our users, we did the following:

  • No users were downgraded.
  • Plan mapping is fixed to align expectations.
  • Users got much more than what they bought as courtesy to their support.

Closing the topic (and any new topics about this) so our team can focus on their productive work.

If you have issues with your plan in your account, please contact support.
