Approvals are moving where you actually work

Hi everyone :wave:

We’re making a significant change to how human-in-the-loop approvals work in Activepieces, and we think you’ll like where this is heading.

The insight: Over the past year, we noticed something interesting. The most successful approval workflows weren’t happening in our Todos dashboard. They were happening in Slack, Teams, and email—the apps you’re already checking constantly.

So we’re doubling down on that pattern.

What’s changing:

  • New “Approvals” tab in the builder — find approval actions right alongside your other pieces, not in a separate product

  • Native approval actions for Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Gmail (coming soon)—your workflows can now pause and wait for your response inside the apps you already use

What’s going away:

  • The standalone Todos table and comments feature will be fully removed on Tuesday the 4th of February for cloud, and will be removed in 0.78.0 for self hosters.

  • If you have workflows using these, you’ll need to replace them with the new approval actions before then.

We are working hard to make Activepieces your favorite tool t use for AI automation.

Great update! Quick check. We need to fix all our 200 flows with approvals before Tuesday? We are using cloud, why on so short notice?

Hi @Kareem_Nofal

Slack approval flow on the cloud version is not working as expected. When using the approval flow with notifications sent to a Slack channel, clicking on the approval or reject button opens a JSON link in the browser. Is this the default behavior?

Additionally, after clicking the approve or disapprove buttons, nothing happens, and the buttons do not get disabled. This is causing confusion in the Slack channel, and members feel uncertain about the status of their approvals since they keep clicking repeatedly.

Could you please look into this issue and provide some guidance on how to resolve it?
